A fool gives
full vent to
his anger,
but a wise man keeps
himself
under control.
Proverbs
29:11
Anger is a
dangerous thing. It can lead us to stand up
for Christ and
other people
when they are wronged. However, it can also
cause us
to say and
do things that we may regret later. We may
hurt people's
feelings or
put up barriers between us and our loved ones when
we react
with anger. The Bible tells us that we
should be
slow to anger, and as stated above, we become fools
when we
fully vent our anger in front of others. We
are to remain
under
control so that we guard our thoughts, words, and
actions.
Anger can
cause hurts that last for lifetimes.
Anger is one of Satan's
tools that
he uses to move us away from God. We must
strive to
withstand
the temptation of letting our anger
interfere
with our relationships or interfere with the
salvation
of another
person. How we behave as Christians will
either lead others
to Christ or
turn them away. We must be careful in our
daily walk and
remember to
keep ourselves under control at all times.
